Monsoon Magic - Color purple

When the white one shuts at 10 am ,the purple lotus opens side by side in the same pond .(leaving an almost uniterrupted meal for the bees.)The purple lotus closes at 8pm when the white one opens. Like the White, the purple lotus opens and closes in a cyclical manner for four days and then withers and falls into the pond.

Monsoon Magic - Fully open

The bud opens and the blossom helps some of the bees have their nectar. During the monsoon ,there are less flowers and hence diminished food supply for the bees. They depend on seasonal flowers like these (Indeed seasanoal since the flower closes again at 10 am to the bud stage and then reopens at 8pm)

This process ,it continues for 4 days and then the flower withers and falls into the pond and most often a new bud would have sprouted from the pond

A white lotus (Called Ambal in Malayalam and pronounced as Aambel) bud gets ready to blossom at 8pm(Which is the the blossom time and this lasts for a period of 12 hours)

Children play foot ball in the lush , water logged paddy fields. The lazy guy prefers to cycle in the field.

Monsoon Magic - Creepy stuff

When the burrows gets filled with water ,snakes and other denizens come out to escape the water logging and settle in warmer spots like fire wood storage huts Here a five inch poisonous scorpion with all its poison in its sting (Zoom in on the tip of the tail where the sting is located) escapes a burrow in search of another place to dwell.
